Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation is dedicated to providing disadvantaged urban youth with significant exposure and access to the arts, as well as providing exhibition opportunities to emerging artists and artists of color. The organization runs wo art galleries (Rush Arts Gallery and Resource Center in Manhattan's Chelsea arts district and the Corridor Gallery in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn). It also brings visual arts education programs into public schools and distributes grants to deserving NYC youth organizations. Two years ago the grants program was expanded to include South Florida youth groups as well. Rush Philanthropic was founded in 1995 by brothers Russell, Danny and Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons.
