SMUT or The Travails Of A Virtuous Woman

SMUT or The Travails Of A Virtuous Woman

GableStage at the Biltmore Hotel in association with World Erotic Art Museum is proud to present the World Premiere of SMUT or The Travails Of A Virtuous Woman a new play by Alice Jay, in collaboration with Joseph Adler. The opening date is Saturday, June 16th— and it runs through Sunday, July 15th.

The play takes place in New York in the early 1900s. It is inspired by the real-life collision of sexual educator, Ida Craddock—and Anthony Comstock, America’s censor and architect of repression—who outlawed pornography, prostitution, contraception, abortion. Three women—a reformer, an immigrant, a wife—dare to defy him.

The cast, directed by GableStage Producing Artistic Director Joseph Adler, features John Felix, Sandra Ives, Dan Leonard, Jessica K. Peterson with Scott Genn, Jim Gibbons, Kim Morgan and Edna Schwab.

Please note: sexual content/nudity.

Performance Schedule: Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 2 and 7pm. Individual tickets are $35, $40 on Saturday and Sunday matinee. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the GableStage at 305-445-1119.
