AmeriCorps*VISTA position at HSC

Human Services Coalition (HSC) seeks qualified candidates to fill the position of AmeriCorps*VISTA, beginning November 2007.

This is a 12-month position. Job duties include the following:

Recruiting and training service-learning students
Maintaining partnerships with local secondary education institutions and other nonprofit organizations
Supporting the expansion of HSC’s Prosperity Campaign through the outreach partner program and special events
Supporting the Access through Action study circle program
Qualified candidates will be self-starting, motivated, share the social justice values of HSC, and desire to improve the economic and social standing of low-income people at the local and national levels. Writing and oral communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Relevant experience is a plus, candidates must be 18 years of age or older.

$960 monthly living allowance
Housing stipend
$4,725 Education Award or $1,200 stipend following completion of service

Child care if eligible
