Sales Job

We are conducting the executive search for a SVP/VP of Sales to lead a 25+ sales team of a very successful, later stage SaaS company. (Title depends upon experience.) Candidates must have experience selling solutions (enterprise software, enterprise solutions, insurance, lease finance deals/equipment, etc) to General Contractors and the Construction industry. The company has developed a new, unique, patented, web-centered technology. Company culture is extremely entrepreneurial, collaborative, and creative. Company is headquartered in Ohio, but working remotely IS an option. Company has over 200 employees and has already closed its Series C. Company is growing 25-30% a year. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company in a pivotal leadership role before a potential IPO. POSITION: SVP/VP of Sales. (Title depends upon experience.) This is a management position. You will be part of the core executive team that includes the CEO. Need someone that can be very hands-on, roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to build revenues while leading and building the sales team. Need someone that is very strategic and hungry. Someone with a passion for winning. Someone who will make sure the reps hit their numbers. Someone who leaves the ego at the door. Need someone that knows how to work smart. Need someone experienced at creating AND executing a strategic sales plan. You will be inheriting a sales team of approximately 25 people. You will be fully in charge of your numbers, growth and hiring plan.

LOCATION: Company is headquartered in Ohio. Prefer candidates that already live in Ohio or are flexible to relocate, but would consider candidates that work remotely.

COMPENSATION: CEO is willing and able to put together the right package for the right candidate. The compensation package will include a base salary, commission/bonus plan, and stock options. A full benefits package (health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, etc.) is included. Client wants someone who is very hungry and confident in their sales abilities.

MANAGEMENT STYLE/CORPORATE CULTURE: This position will report directly to the CEO. He is very big on delegation. He believes in hiring the best people, then providing them with clear incentives and responsibilities. Focus is on results. He believes in trust and likes to debate and encourage. He is committed to maintain and expand a sales culture throughout the company. Sales people get a lot of support from him. He needs a strong sales leader. However, he is there to provide all the resources (financial, hr, etc) that you will need to grow and maintain a successful sales culture in the company. You will have a lot of latitude at the tactical level and you will need a lot of creativity to drive volume.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Must have someone with recent and significant experience managing a team quota as a SVP, VP or Director selling solutions (enterprise software, enterprise solutions, insurance, lease finance deals/equipment, etc) to General Contractors and the Construction industry.
Must have significant experience selling solutions to General Contractors and the Construction industry.
You will benefit from the fact that the Company’s team is stable and mature, with capable management in product development, customer support, and finance. You will also “have plenty to work with,” thanks to an excellent product that generates quantifiable results for major General Contractors and Construction companies who are pleased to provide references. Company has an established pipeline and strong lead generation department. Having a strong rolodex is NOT important. However, having a strong track record as a sales leader and helping to manage and close deals with our target market is VERY important.
Must have a consultative sales approach. Must do your research and learn about your customers and their specific market and use every angle possible. Be able to help customers evaluate their business and needs. Be able to chart their needs and show customers all their options. You must really understand the deal and can do a pitch from many different angles. Must be able to walk and talk the deal. You need to be able to rearrange your pitch on the fly. You have to know your material. You must be fully up to speed on your business, your company’s products/services and competitors. Must be technically savvy and comfortable using spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, Salesforce.com, etc.
Must have someone with the energy and ability to identify and create the solutions necessary to be successful in different markets. Need a true sales leader to get the team excited and motivated about the same things. Need someone with an entrepreneurial streak. Someone who can listen to the customer, learn what they need and creatively come up with the tactical elements that are needed to close the deal. Someone who is strategic about the market (i.e. the market in San Diego is very different than Boise.) Need someone accustomed to modifying their sales tactics depending on the target market.
Must have someone who can build and lead a top grade sales team. Someone who can ensure that the team has the best possible talent (A players) at each level. Structure comp & incentive plans. Coach and keep top talent and remove non-performers efficiently. Also establish sales processes, tracking and visibility. You will be inheriting a sales team of approximately 25 people. You will be fully in charge of your numbers, growth and hiring plan.
