Electronic cigarette Review Site

I'm not a smoker, but I realize what a hard habit it is to quit.

So I wanted to start a business that could help. For many people, we've learned that electronic cigarettes provides a way of quitting. But even for those who don't want to quit, at least it's a much healthier product -- it just contains nicotine and a food additive that makes the vapor. No tar or any of the other 2000-3000 chemicals including multiple carcinogens and addictive substances that cigarettes have. And electronic cigarettes give the person using them the hand-to-mouth, inhaling experience they crave.

www.MiamiStyleMe.com is a review site that provides information about the best electronic cigarettes, the ones to be avoided and everything in between. I invite you to visit the site today. And please pass it along to your friends and loved ones who smoke or are trying to quit.

Dreaming of South Africa: My favorites in Cape Town and beyond‏ from Suzanne's Files

June 10, 2010

The FIFA World Cup matches kicked off this week in South Africa, and the sight of all those gorgeous vistas is making me nostalgic for my last trip to this breathtaking country. Games are being held in host cities across the country, but my personal favorite is cosmopolitan Cape Town, known as the Mother City to South Africans.

A mix of unique activities, beautiful climate, and truly fabulous food makes Cape Town one of my top worldwide destinations. I've enjoyed hiking Table Mountain, lingering over dinner at Constantia Utsig, shopping the galleries and crafts markets, and strolling the city's stunning botanical gardens.

Here are a few of my most-recommended Cape Town hotels:

Les Cascades de Bantry Bay: Dramatically perched overlooking the Atlantic, this boutique gem is located in exclusive Bantry Bay. Just six spacious suites are bedecked with unusual Asian and African artifacts, and dark wood furniture.

The Cellars-Hohenort: This charming rural retreat features an 18th century building just minutes away from the Constantia wine route. 53 suites offer views of the surrounding Constantia Valley and the hotel's beautifully landscaped garden.

Tintswalo Atlantic: If you like the sea as much as I do, there's nowhere else I'd recommend staying. Staff will drive you anywhere you'd like to go, so there's no need to rent a car, and the setting at the base of a cliff is this hotel's trump card.

David Barton Gym!

People make mistakes. It happens.

Like when you thought you had joined Miami’s best gym — that was silly.

The important thing to remember is to seize an opportunity for redemption when it presents itself. So when David Barton Gym offers a full seven-day trial membership to prove to DailyCandy readers that it’s the best in the business, you’d better jump on it.

Along with complete access to its cutting-edge equipment, swimming pool, worDavid Barton Gym!ld-renown spa, and creative classes (think H2O, Six Pack Attack, and Fight Club), you’ll also receive one complimentary training session to see firsthand what all the fuss is about. If you decide to join, it’ll even waive the enrollment fee.

The offer is only good through April 30, so sign up soon.

Missing out would be a huge mistake.

Adventurous Concepts for Alzheimer's

Do you want to have a BANG out fun time while raising money for a great cause?

Adventurous Concepts (AC) is hosting a charity race to benefit the Alzheimer's Association whereby all proceeds will be donated to the not-for-profit organization. I am committed to do something to help find a cure for Alzheimer's - and you can help!

Your mission is to get yourself and a few friends out to race thru South Beach. Make a team with your friends, daughters, sons, parents, siblings, friends, coworkers, or get the boss on board as a team building exercise.

Teams can be comprised of two, three or four persons. You'll count on your collective wisdom to develop race strategy, plan your route, and make key decisions. You can walk, run, or take public transportation to arrive at checkpoint (CP) locations. It is estimated the course will last between 1.5 - 4 hours depending how quickly you move and your decisions.

Your team will be given a clue sheet just prior to race start, which will require you to decipher 10-15 clues. Each clue represents a specific checkpoint. Your task is to follow the instructions on said sheet. Don't be surprised if, at some locations, you are tasked to do a wacky or not so wacky activity.

Proceeds benefit projects of JLM, an organization of approximately 1,000 women dedicated to the empowerment of Miami’s women, children and families.

“We are excited to honor such impressive women who strive to make a difference in the lives of women and children through their dedication to community service,” says Erin Knight, JLM President. “The celebratory luncheon will be an unforgettable afternoon filled with fun, friends, and fundraising.”

This year’s honorees are philanthropist Lourdes Castillo de la Peña, stem cell research activist Sabrina Cohen, public service advocate Claudia Kitchens, and legal pioneer Edith Osman.

Lourdes Castillo de la Peña has devoted herself to local and international charities as a champion for causes affecting women and children. She is the Florida Commissioner for the Status of Women where, after conducting comprehensive surveys, she gives women a voice as she reports her findings to Governor Crist. In addition, she has served on the board of the Mercy Hospital Foundation, Miami Children’s Hospital XOXO group, and Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos.

After a tragic car accident that left her with a spinal cord injury and confined to a wheelchair, Sabrina Cohen has dedicated her life to youth mentoring, disability advocacy, and stem cell research fundraising. She launched the Sabrina Cohen Foundation for Stem Cell Research, aimed at leading the fight against disease by funding stem cell research. Last year, WebMD magazine nominated her as an “American Health Hero.”

With more than 30 years of experience advocating for issues and inspiring young leaders to reach their full potential, Claudia Kitchens has been recognized for her success in creating strategic solutions for issues including homelessness, domestic violence, sexual assault, foster care, and many others. She most recently served as Executive Director of the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade where she led the organization to become the premier advocacy group for women and girls in the county. She also served as President of the Junior League of Miami.

Understanding the importance of women taking leadership roles in order to open the legal system to other women, Edith Osman has forged new paths for the gender. She was only the second woman to be elected as President of The Florida Bar, where she created the Commission on the Legal Needs of Children after recognizing how children were negatively impacted by existing laws. She also served statewide as president Florida Association of Women Lawyers, was elected to the Florida Bar Board of Governors, and was the first woman to become President of the Council of the Council of Voluntary Bar Presidents.

The purpose and mission of the Junior League of Miami is exclusively educational and charitable. JLM sponsors community programs and grants that empower Miami’s women, children, and families to conquer tomorrow’s challenges. Most recently, JLM has supported community programs such as the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, Sundari Foundation - Lotus House women’s shelter, WINGS (Women in Need of Greater Strength for Life) of South Florida, and YMCA reading center preschool, in addition to many others. Fundraisers like the Women Who Make a Difference Luncheon with the Stars help to endow these instrumental community programs.

Ticket prices for the luncheon are $85/seat or $800/table. An exclusive VIP reception will be held prior to the luncheon with tickets priced at $125/seat or $1,150/table. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.jlmiami.org.
