Celebrate mango season with savory seasonal dishes and complementary (& complimentary) wines!
It is time to celebrate the Florida mango and Chef Dewey LoSasso of Restaurant North One Ten, who shares the Slow Food principles of using seasonal, locally sourced foods, has planned a special menu for Slow Food members and supporters built upon this delicious fruit and other local ingredients. Thanks to his culinary talent and the generous donations of wines by Domaine Ste. Michelle Winery and an anonymous Slow Food member, we are pleased to present a Mango focused dinner including wine-pairings to be held at 7pm on Wednesday July 18 at North One Ten Restaurant 11052 Biscayne Blvd.
The complete menu appears below. Please note that a full $20 of each ticket ($65 per person) will benefit Slow Food’s educational programs. Spaces are filling up fast, so guarantee your seats with payment by phone, e-mail or postal service now.
Advance payment of $65 per person required and can be made by credit card via phone or e-mail, or by check payable to Slow Food Miami and mailed to Slow Food Treasurer, c/o Idealogy. P.O. About Slow Food: Slow Food Miami is a not-for-profit education organization that advocates ecogastronomy, a fusion of principles with pleasure. It encourages busy people to make time to enjoy life with family and friends, celebrating the way full appreciation of the pleasures of the table entails good company, a developed taste for culinary distinctions, and respect for healthful foods, small farmers, chefs, and artisan food producers. Slow Food groups in 100 countries throughout the world are dedicated to the revival of kitchen and table as centers of culture and community; to invigoration of regional, seasonal traditions; to stewardship of the land; and to making time to enjoy life at a slower, more humane pace. The experience of Slow Food's healthy, human relationship between culture and cuisine will persuade you that principles & pure pleasure always dine together!
Slow Food Miami’s "Plant A Thousand Gardens" is a collaborative effort that follows the lead of Alice Waters, founder of the renowned Chez Panisse restaurant in San Francisco, to transform school lunches. The garden-to-table approach is unique among emerging attempts to reverse the trend towards childhood overweight and obesity because it goes beyond nutrition lessons to offer experiential learning and the societal support that helps children maintain healthier eating habits. The proceeds of Slow Food events help support the garden project.
