Recently, Miami made the list of "Best Burgeoning Bike Scenes in North America." And now that we're an up-and-coming spokes model community, pedal power is on the rise, from locally-owned, sweet ride-providing bike shops to wheelie events that are truly poppin'.

When he's in need of serious bike time, Naveed K makes a stop at Business Cycles. "The name means it: it's all business. Come here if you're willing to pay time, effort and cash for the most unbelievably top-notch product array for road and track bicycles in Miami-Dade." For a fixie fixin' Marcos R turns to Keirin Cycles: "It's a tiny shop that specializes in fixed gear bikes. This place sells all sorts of high-end components, so you can upgrade your existing bike. Or build one here." All-rounder Gustavo A holds a torch for the world class service from Elite Cycling: "This place is actually owned and operated by Olympian speed skaters, KC Boutiette and Jennifer Rodriguez."

In need of some TLC for your go machine? Ashley A's wheels just needed a little 'Mack'-gick, and that's what she got when she brought in her road bike for service: "The mechanic was not only super nice, but reasonable when it came to charging me for labor." No sleight of hand there. Miami Beach Bicycle Center earns a Shwinning gold star from Liana S who's "supercool original 1968 Schwinn cruiser was ready 24 hours later as promised." And Miami's biking Revolution is just the sort of uprising that Torrey R needed: "I came in with a broken spoke at closing and they had it ready the next day! I'm rough on my toys and getting out of a repair shop with change in my pocket is a rarity."

Biking can be a generational thing, and Chris C is a long time Cycle Mart customer: "Every bike our family bought is from here." Brandon B recently discovered "we in South Florida have a foldable bike manufacturer in our own backyard. Citizen Bike sells three types of foldable bikes. You no longer have to be the guy annoying everybody in the elevator with your giant 10-speed mountain bike." However you ride, don't forget to get out for Bike Miami's last party of the dry season!
