Stand and Deliver
The Food Stand Outside Grubstake Resources
There comes a time when you have to make the tough choices.
Like every day at noon when you must decide where to go for lunch.
Making the decision for you: the new barbecue food stand outside Grubstake Resources thrift store in Wynwood.
Hot dogs are served Chilean style, with ketchup, mustard, mayo, and salsa made with avocado and cilantro. The pulled pork sandwich — prepared the Southern way, with homemade sauce and cabbage on a French roll — is WLRN’s Joe Cooper’s favorite. Mango and berry smoothies make the heat (spicy and otherwise) almost bearable. Also delicious: the not-South Beach prices.
The charming pink and purple stand — surrounded by a few polka-dot tables — is open Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Worth a trip? There’s no question.
