300 - 400K for VP Sales in DC‏

We are conducting an executive search for the Vice President or Director of Sales for a fast-growing technology company. The company is very well funded and does not need to raise any additional capital. Position is located in Washington, DC. This is a key hire. Annual base salary will most likely be in the mid 100’s DOE; total comp with bonus will be $300-400k+. Board is willing and able to put together the right package for the right person. This is a key hire. Need someone who has previously grown a technology company from under $5M to over $10M within a relatively short period of time. Need someone that can carry a bag and personally close deals while building a sales team from scratch. You will need to significantly grow your sales team within 12 months of hire. You will be fully in charge of your numbers, growth and hiring plan. Need someone that can be very hands-on, roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to build revenues while building a team. POSITION: Vice President or Director of Sales. (Title depends upon experience.) This is a management position. You will be part of the core executive team that includes the CEO. Need someone that is very strategic and hungry. Someone with a passion for winning. Someone that knows how to work smart. Initially, this will also be an individual contributor position. Need someone that can carry a bag and personally close deals while building a sales team from scratch. Need someone that can be very hands-on, roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to build revenues while building the sales team.

COMPANY: A fast-growing technology company. The company is very well funded and does not need to raise any additional capital.

LOCATION: Position is located in Washington, DC. Candidates must already live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate. Working remotely is not an option.

COMPENSATION: This is a key hire. Annual base salary will most likely be in the mid 100’s DOE; total comp with bonus will be $300-400k+. Plus, full benefits package. However, CEO is flexible and ready to put together the right package for the right candidate. Client wants someone who is very hungry and confident in their sales abilities.

MANAGEMENT STYLE/CORPORATE CULTURE: This position reports to the CEO. He will only hire someone who is a team player and does not need to be micromanaged. Basically, he prefers to agree to a set of objectives making sure that the objectives are clearly outlined and understood by the individual, then let the individual execute the plan. But, expects the individual to keep him informed of progress. Individual must be able to go the CEO when in need of help. He will only hire someone that is very entrepreneurial and passionate with a burning hunger for success and excellence; someone with a vision. He wants people with new ideas and strong opinions, but able to move in a fast paced, ever-changing start up environment. Need someone who is very nice and pleasant to work with who can achieve results without stepping on people. Culture is very entrepreneurial, team oriented, fun, friendly, respectful, easy going and results focused. There is open communication and exchange of new ideas. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* Must have someone who has held a sales position within the last 12 months managing an individual quota and/or team quota selling technology, services and/or solutions to corporations with 500+ employees or to the Heads of Foundations, Non-profits and/or DAFs.
* Must have a well developed “Rolodex” of key contacts in corporations with 500+ employees, or the top executives at Foundations and Non-profits.
* Must have experience creating AND executing a strategic sales plan. You will need to significantly grow your sales team within 12 months of hire. You will be fully in charge of your numbers, growth and hiring plan. Prefer someone that can bring some people on board quickly. Ideal if you have previous experience working with them.
