Thursday-Sunday, July 26-29
“Yerma”

The XXII International Hispanic Theatre Festival closes with Teatro Avante's Yerma, by Federico Garcia Lorca, adaptation by Raquel Carrio, directed by Lilliam Vega. Dreams and reality mingle to tell the story of a woman trapped in existential circumstances in which tradition and convention have joined to put an end to all hope. Yerma is about the tragedy of living every day when the hope of life ever sprouting has been hopelessly extinguished. In Spanish with English supertitles. Performances are Thurs-Sat at 8:30 p.m. and Sun at 5 p.m.
