Feeling Clammy?

8th Annual Hollywood Beach Clambake

By now you've probably noticed, we're surrounded by an, um, ocean full of water. Yet finding worthy wet places isn't always easy sailing, is it captain? Forget that sinking feeling, 'cause this Weekly Yelp dives in and comes up big on just where to make a splash in Miami!

It's hard to beat the views of the Great Big Blue from an island or two, so jump the Rickenbacker to Virgina Key and Key Biscayne. Don't forget to save that receipt, because it'll save you a buck at WetLab – and with their regular $2.25 and $3 prices on beers and drinkies, a Washington goes a long way. Head to the end of the Key to find beautiful Bill Baggs and the lighthouse, but for that ultimate drinking pleasure, park it at Boater's Grill in No Name Harbour. Remember Armando L's advice and keep an eye out for dolphins... and no, not Ricky Williams!

Think parks are all about green grass and fresh air? Blue Marlin inside Oleta River State Park is an old Florida throwback; Brandon R recommends "you sit outside on the side of the river with the wind blowing, but under a roof so you aren't baking in the sun." Eschel H enjoys the low-key vibe of Black Point Ocean Grill. "Nothing could be more casual, but the atmosphere is very cool, and the view of the marina is great." And if you've got a boat and plan on heading down to the Keys, he suggests "stopping by on your way to and/or on your way back!" Now, who's got a boat?

Miami Beach may be known for its Atlantic coastline, but it also has bay views to boast. For Janelle F "the best part about eating at the Miami Yacht Club is their outside seating. You are literally ten steps away from the water... it is super relaxing and really feels like you're 'getting away' for lunch." The Standard on the Venetian provides Marcos R with "the perfect spot to be during sunset." Sure the drinks are "a little spendy, but you gotta spoil yourself once in awhile," right? Speaking of the cost of luxe living, the Sunset Lounge inside the Mondrian sets a high bar, but Kelly O's here to tell us the lavish locale does not disappoint. Complete with a whimsical feel and sweeping views of the city, sky, and seas, as well as $16 cocktails, some views just might be worth the cost!

Sebastian E. on Big Fish 2000
"One of my favorite spots by the water... if you can find and get to it. Having guests arrive by boat (or sometimes Yacht would be more appropriate) adds to the charm and seems to be the simpler way to get here.
I do have to agree with other comments made about the food, it has room to improve for…"

Florence Y. on Scotty's Landing
"Loved the view, the laid back atmosphere here..and mist-blowing fans which made me feel like I was fresh produce in a farmer's market! :)

Ordered fish and chips, wasn't too bad, Service was a little slow but then again, we had a big group. I love that it is tucked away from the naked eye...almost…"

Jason G. on Racks Italian Bistro and Market
"Look, I don't know what else you could ask for when you want a great Italian place serving kick-ass pizza in a beautiful restaurant with good service.

After hearing that Mr. Racks himself won "best pizza in America" for his truffle masterpiece, we had to go. We did, however, decide against ordering…"
