American Express GNS North America aims to transform its business through partnership with select bank partners to issue credit cards on the American Express network and grow billings and market share.

The position will be a key member of the GNS LAC Regional Marketing team and will be responsible for developing and implementing key tactics to drive desired business growth of assigned bank partnerships

Product Line Strategy and Competitive Assessment
• Consistently evaluate competitive products in assigned country and monitor AXP value proposition by segment to ensure continuous product differentiation.
• Drive new product launches and coordinate gating process for new and revitalized products

Card Acquisition
• Develop new acquisition channels and maximizing existing ones working close with Partner Banks’ acquisition teams to rapidly acquire new customers. This will cover all channels including Direct Mail, Direct Sales, Personal Sales, Telemarketing, Branch Sales and Interactive.
• Work with all partners to support in the successful set up, training, implementation, execution, ongoing management, evaluation and evolution of existing and development of new channels.
• Work with finance and risk to analyze channel profitability, performance and incentive schemes.

Portfolio Performance & Lifecycle management
• Develop template and influence partner to obtain key metrics regularly in order to analyze and monitor portfolio performance to seek continuous improvements
• Obtain and adapt AXP global best practices for partners needs in order to grow AXP spend, reduce attrition, manage LOC, grow AR, and implement upgrade practices, etc.
• Develop and implement with partner annual marketing plan targeted at growing usage and spend for each segment and AXP portfolio
• Implement with partner and support tracking of spend programs to drive investment optimization and prepare sound recommendations and analysis for partner and AXP.
• Regularly monitor anti-attrition practices and work with partner to improve retention rates in SAC units, while identifying proactive anti-attrition opportunities
• Develop and implement with partner robust welcome and activation (first 100 days) plan to drive increased NCA activation
• Identify opportunities to leverage local credit bureau data and work with AXP Risk and Decision Science team to develop strategies to increase AXP share of wallet

Advertising and Promotion
• Responsible to review and obtain approval for all below the line AXP communications developed by partner banks, in accordance to AXP global advertising policies.

People Leadership
• The marketing manager will be responsible for implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of an acquisition, loyalty and spend strategy and related tactics for key markets in the LAC region in alignment with the relevant Relationship Manager and Global Marketing team
• Influence colleagues and bank partners to prioritize AXP portfolio

Requirements

• 3-5 year’s proven experience in credit card marketing.
• Consumer credit card marketing. Extensive consumer credit card marketing experience within an issuer essential
• Extensive experience in successfully implementing consumer card new product development, acquisition and loyalty programs essential.
• Deep understanding and proven ability to interpret key cards portfolio indicators and drive conclusions presenting complex data in a simple format
• Merchant Marketing. Merchant marketing experience useful but not essential.
