The World’s Fastest Theatre Production!

What? The Naked Stage’s First Annual 24-Hour Theatre Project Fundraiser

When? Monday, November 19th, 2007 @ 8:00 PM!

Where? Gablestage at the Biltmore Hotel

After the success of its opening production, By Any Other Name... Romeo & Juliet, The Naked Stage is proud to present its first annual 24-Hour Theatre Project fundraiser co-starring fellow South Florida theatre companies Ground Up & Rising, Mad Cat Theatre Company and The Promethean Theatre. Through the generosity of Joseph Adler, Artistic Director of Gablestage, this ambitious fundraiser will take place at one of South Florida’s most popular and successful playhouses. Gablestage (at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables) has provided the region’s theatre audience with some of the most critically acclaimed dramas in the past several years; and is the perfect location for this unique experience. But a playing space is not all the Multiple Carbonell Award winning Director intends to give. Mr. Adler will also donate his time as a performer!

How does it work? At 7 PM on Sunday, November 18th, 2007, 6 playwrights will gather and select a theme from which they must each write a short play to be staged, rehearsed and performed the next day -- just 24 hours later! At sunrise on Monday, November 19th, their randomly distributed directors and actors arrive (armed only with copious amounts of caffeinated beverages), and spend the entire day bringing the writers’ work to life. A process that usually takes weeks! That night, at 8:00 PM (Okay, so technically that’s 25 hours after we start. What do you want from us?!), an audience will gather to see... Well, I have no idea what they're going to see, actually.

IF YOU GO

The Naked Stage’s first annual 24-Hour Theatre Project fundraiser will take place on Monday, November 19th, 2007 @ 8:00 PM at Gablestage at the Biltmore Hotel. There will be a small reception/meet & greet with the directors, writers and actors immediately following the performance. Gablestage is located at the Biltmore Hotel at 1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134-6356. Single seats for the fundraiser are $50. Please call the Gablestage Box Office at (305) 445-1119 to purchase your tickets. Don’t wait, as tickets will go FAST! Doors open at 7:45 PM.
