VP Bus Dev NEEDED in Boston, Chicago or DC‏

We are conducting an executive search for a VP of Business Development. This technology company has successfully grown rapidly to over 85 employees and has many reference-able Fortune 500 clients. It continuously and successfully beats the competition and is ranked above all their competitors. The CEO is ready to position the company for an exit. He needs someone with experience putting together relationships in the facilities management marketplace. This person must have worked with companies like Serco, Honeywell, Tandberg, Jones Lang LaSalle, Grubb & Ellis, Polyvision and/or companies in the Facilities Management marketplace and will have generated either millions of dollars in contract value or an exit. This is an excellent opportunity to hit a homerun within a couple of years. Position can be located in the Boston, Chicago or Washington DC area. This is a key hire. POSITION: VP of Business Development. COMPANY: This technology company has successfully grown rapidly to over 85 employees and has many reference-able Fortune 500 clients. LOCATION: Position can be located in the Boston, Chicago or Washington DC area. CEO prefers someone who already lives in one of these areas. However, he is flexible to relocate the right candidate. COMPENSATION: Compensation package will include a significant base salary, bonus, full benefits and a strong equity play. This is a key hire. Board is willing to put together the right package for the right candidate. MANAGEMENT STYLE/CORPORATE CULTURE: Position reports to the CEO. He operates at an extremely fast pace and prefers to be "hands off." He will help set goals and priorities, then give you room to succeed. Need someone that can think strategically, and come to him when necessary. Need someone who is self-disciplined and can hit the ground running. Candidates need to be highly effective at managing their own time and priorities. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: -- Must have put together relationships with Serco, Honeywell, Tandberg, Jones Lang LaSalle, Grubb & Ellis, Polyvision and/or companies in the Facilities Management marketplace that generated either millions of dollars in contract value or an exit. -- Must understand technology and how to apply it. More importantly, they need to know how to get into the doors of Serco, Honeywell, Tandberg, Jones Lang LaSalle, Grubb & Ellis, Polyvision and/or companies in the Facilities Management marketplace and create a value statement. Candidates need to have a rolodex of some key players at either Serco, Honeywell, Tandberg, Jones Lang LaSalle, Grubb & Ellis, Polyvision and/or companies in the Facilities Management marketplace -- Must be comfortable prospecting, building and extending relationships, writing a deal memo, negotiating contracts, etc. Someone with strong customer presentation skills including PowerPoint is required. Also, business and revenue modeling with Excel is required. Need someone who is good at building relationships and managing short as well as long sales cycles. Revenue creation and relationship development is critical. . -- Prefer someone with experience working in a dynamic environment, pure startup, startup within a large organization, spin-off, or an emerging market. Need someone who is flexible to travel as necessary and wants to work in an environment that constantly changes. Someone who has a strong entrepreneurial drive and spirit is required. -- Must be hands-on and able to just roll up your sleeves and get the job done. Need someone who is experienced at driving the process from start to finish. Need someone who can drive the deal from initiating the dialogue, to managing the process, to negotiating the terms, and closing the agreement. If you are used to taking the deal to a certain level before turning it over to another department or person, then this is not the right opportunity for you.
