Two hundred of the most prestigious galleries in the world - selected from more than 850 applicants - will show works by over 2,000 artists. An array of special exhibitions and events are available to visitors, and one-hour long ArtNexus guided tours are available in English and Spanish. Cost of tour is $17 p/p. Art Basel Miami Beach is open noon to 8 p.m. Thurs - Sat and till 6 p.m. on Sun. Purchase tickets through Ticketmaster - one-day tickets are $30; after 5 p.m. $15; and multi-day passes are $65. Children under 16 are free when accompanied by an adult.

RAM Miami

RAM (Representational Artists Movement) Miami, an Art Basel Miami Beach satellite event, is transforming the Miami City Ballet studios into an art experience that will involve the viewer from the moment they enter with atmospheric lighting, visual projections and living sculpture. Collaborating with MCB, RAM will present vignettes and juxtaposed art objects, including graffiti, murals, life-size sculptures, 3-dimensional trompe l'oeil and a "Live & Wet" painting of a principal MCB dancer. The exhibition is free and open to the public Weds 9 to 11:30 p.m., Thurs-Sat from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sun from noon to 5 p.m. A portion of proceeds benefit Miami City Ballet. "Word of Mouth" Fits in a Box

Gallery Diet at The Bridge Art Fair presents Brian Burkhardt's conceptual exhibition that indiscriminately shows the work of emerging and under-recognized artists. Word of Mouth imposed a standard size limitation so submitted work must fit in a flat-rate USPS box. The exhibition room will be transformed using cork, allowing the show to be in a constant state of flux with maximum exposure realized for the vast group of international artists who were chosen to exhibit. Open Dec 6 from noon to 4 p.m.; Dec 7 & 8 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Dec 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Art Now Fair

Art Now Fair will showcase 45 galleries from six different countries that focus on emerging and cutting edge artists. Participating galleries are encouraged to be creative with their installations and to present a wide diversity of new and established artists and a range of medium from painting and photography to installation and video. Madam Bertin-Toublanc's Private Soiree

Opening of "No One Belongs Here More Than You"

Gen Art is hosting one of its legendary parties celebrating the opening of "No One Belongs Here More Than You." Guests will enjoy complimentary beverages courtesy of Bombay Sapphire, Peroni and smartwater, and DJ Ray Milian will be on hand to keep the party in the groove all night long. Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door (cash only please). Gen Art members receive complimentary or discounted tickets depending on their membership level. The highly anticipated exhibition, curated by Francesco LoCastro and presented by Gen Art Miami, features works from over 25 of the most widely recognized Urban Contemporary and Pop Surrealism artists from around the world. Included are paintings, sculptures and installations, complemented by the newest series of works from Miami artist Lebo, entitled "Infinite Echoes and Supersonic Soul Stories." Russell Simmons' Rush Philanthropic Art Foundation shopping event at Intermix

Design Matters with Debbie Millman

The Wolfsonian hosts Debbie Millman, a renowned branding expert, designer and writer, who will moderate a "Design Matters" live session with Vancouver-based illustrator/designer Marian Bantjes, Miami-based Carlos Perez, the core of Elastic People, and George Mill, the Publikum Calendar Creative Director who started the project. Publikum Calendar 2008: Guide for Living features works by 12 world-renowned designers and is one of the most extraordinary calendars in the world. The event is free and open to the public.

Three artists, three continents - through December 31 at Locust Projects. See "Pocket Stadium" by the Swiss-based duo known as L/B, Sabine Lang and Daniel Baumann in the main room; "Get Lost," curated by Canadian-born Mark Clintberg, in the Project room; and the site-specific mural project of Ed Young, a South African artist who will create a new mural every 4 months for one year (pictured). Participating in Clintberg's compilation of single-channel video art, a collective exploration of wandering and romanticism, are: Daniel Barrow, Slavica Ceperkovic, Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay, Susannah Wesley, Emily Vey Duke, Cooper Battersby and Stacey Watson.

5th Annual Breakfast in the Park

Celebrated American sculptor Tom Otterness is the Frost Art Museum's special guest at Breakfast in the Park, an official Art Basel sponsored event. Guests will enjoy a complimentary breakfast outdoors, guided tours of the sculpture park, and an informal lecture by Otterness. Best known for his unique public sculpture, Otterness' stylized bronze figures issue cautionary commentaries on society, politics and commerce in an accessible and humorous approach. His work is in the collections of MOMA, The Whitney Museum, The Carnegie Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the San Francisco Museum of Art. He currently resides in Brooklyn and is represented by the Marlborough Gallery. Free bus transportation to the Frost Art Museum will depart the Miami Beach Convention Center Hall D at 9:30 a.m. and return at noon. Email for more information. Design Miami 2007
December 7 – 9 from noon to 5 p.m.

Designers and artists will offer live, interactive demonstrations throughout the Miami Design District. Ten innovative new and established designers have been invited to create art for the public in public. These design performances will take place continuously in the Loft Building (3627 N.E. 1st Court); the Chatham Building (155 N.E. 40th Street); and at Oak Plaza (160 N.E. 40th Street).
