The Big Give

In the spirit of the 4th of July, this month’s charity is the USO. The USO provides essential services that support not only our GIs around the world, but also their families left behind at home. The celebrity entertainment tours deliver America’s brightest stars directly to the Front to cheer the troops. They hand out pre-paid phone cards and care packages of hard-to find personal items to embarking GIs. Mobile canteens and USO centers from airports to battle zones offer brief respite from the stress of combat.

Whether or not you agree with the wars going on overseas, we all support out troops. I was surprised to learn that the USO is not a government organization and relies on our donations. Every little bit says thanks for their sacrifice.

Thanks for all the different charities – some of them I have never heard of and sound great. I will include as many as I can in the upcoming months.
