Networking event‏

Last week, President Bush finally used the "R" word... Recession. I know that hearing this word is a scary thing for all of us, and especially coming from an administration that has lived in denial for so long about the harsh economic reality of where our country was heading.

I am truly confident that our economy will flourish again. Our country is too great not to recover from this and we have too many extremely capable Americans creating a solution. I'm also realistic that this is something that will have to be painstakingly solved through a long process.

One trait that we share as small business owners is that we do not sit around waiting for solutions, after all, we never want to join the rank of businesses that failed, so even in the worse of times, we have always found creative ways to sustain our businesses. I don't have the answers, but I would like to plan a meeting of local small business minds to share our ideas and experience. I believe that working together, we can find ways to ride this economic wave. If you are interested in participating in this January meeting, please email me at monica@latinbiz.net and we will send you details soon.

We promise to do our part. In 2009 Latin Business Club of America (Miami Chapter) is committed to donating $50,000 of promotional services to selected Small Businesses. You will be receiving an application and qualification requirements in February, 2009. Thanks to our sponsors, we will also continue to provide free admission to our regular networking events and free membership. We have other exciting announcements that will be made in January. So, more to come...

I look forward to seeing you Wednesday, as this is our last networking event of 2008. I think the greatest power of giving is the realization that we have the capability to give and thereby respond to an immediate need. Please do your part in putting a smile on a child's face by joining us this Wednesday at our networking event and bringing a toy or making a donation toward the purchase of toys for needy children.
Thank you so much and remember that... WE ARE WITH YOU!

In unity,
Monica Puig
