Voluteer with Children

Project Sunshine is a nondenominational, nonprofit organization that provides free programs and services to children and families who are affected by serious medical challenges.
Project Sunshine sends volunteers to visit hospitalized children and their families to provide arts and crafts, tutoring, entertainment and special events. Our volunteers are corporate executives, lawyers, artists, students and people of all ages and backgrounds who donate their time and resources to improving the lives of children and families in need.
Project Sunshine has 190 chapters throughout the United States, Canada, and Kenya. In the last year, 10,000 volunteers have participated in our programs.
The Children's Home Society (CHS) in Miami

CHS shelters children ages 1-12 who have been removed from their parents due to poor domestic issues and are placed there on a temporary basis.
This is not a hospital setting, this is a shelter for children with emotional/ psychiatric challenges as they have experienced abuse, neglect, etc. Even though the setting can be challenging at times, the children enjoy our interaction and our Project Sunshine activities are greatly appreciated. The children couldn't be happier to see our group and all the volunteers’ walk away feeling a sense of intrinsic satisfaction.

Volunteering would require just 2 hours of your time once or twice a month.
