VP Community development, NYC or Denver

We are conducting an executive search for the VP-Director of Community Development. This three year old startup has been generating revenues from day one. It has more than doubled revenues every year. ComScore ranks this company above all its competitors. Company is very well funded and backed by major tier one investors. You will have every resource that you need to be successful. Position can be located in New York City or Denver area. Client prefers someone already living within commuting distance to one of these areas, but will relocate the right candidate. Working remotely is not an option. Candidates must have held a position within the last 12 months as a VP or Director with responsibility for developing an online community at a company that falls into one of the following categories: 1) a significant social media company 2) a massive social networking or community company. Compensation package will include a significant base salary, bonus, full benefits and a strong equity play. This is a key hire. Board is willing to put together the right package for the right candidate. Candidates must have experience building a really big online community. Must be able to tell at least one success story. Need a pioneer that has proven experience getting new members to join a new online community. Most people join after learning about the company. Need someone that can get the word out. He prefers to have people run with full responsibility of their P&Ls. He will help set goals and priorities, then give you room to succeed. Need someone that can think independently, and come to him when necessary. Need someone who is self-disciplined and can hit the ground running. Candidates need to be highly effective at managing their own time and priorities. Corporate culture is very open and results oriented. Anyone can get involved in any project, but everyone has their own set of responsibilities. No rank and file. It is not how hard you work, but how much you get done.
