COO & SVP of Prod Dev NEEDED‏

We are conducting an executive search for the Chief Operating Officer and SVP of Product Development for a global 3.0 Web company with offices in Europe and the United States. The company has developed a very unique, patent-pending, and web-based technology that enables the user to combine and evaluate existing knowledge into potentially valid new knowledge. Need a COO/SVP who has successfully managed and led operations and product development for a company that generated revenues through online advertising. This position will be headquartered in the United States. Board is open to location of the candidate. However, candidates must be comfortable to travel to Europe twice a month, while building the U.S. team. Candidates must have the proven ability to manage a distributed product development team. Board is willing and able to put together the right package for the right candidate. The focus is on hiring the best candidate. Compensation includes base, bonus, stock options, and full benefits package. MANAGEMENT STYLE/CORPORATE CULTURE: This position reports to the CEO. The CEO is based in Europe. He will only hire someone who is a team player and does not need to be micromanaged. Basically, he prefers to agree to a set of objectives making sure that the objectives are clearly outlined and understood by the individual, then let the individual execute the plan. But, he expects the individual to keep him informed of progress. Individual must be able to go to the CEO when in need of help. He will only hire someone that is very entrepreneurial and passionate with a burning hunger for success; someone with a vision. He wants people with new ideas and strong opinions, but able to move in a fast paced, ever-changing start up environment. He needs someone that can hit the ground running. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: -- Must have recent and significant experience in a position as an Officer, SVP or VP with responsibility for managing and growing Operations and Product Development at a company that generated revenues through online advertising. -- Must have a successful history of developing web based products and releasing them to commercial success. -- Must have a deep knowledge of Web 3.0 (semantic web technologies). -- Must have a history of using RAD frameworks. -- Prefer someone with experience in the life sciences space. -- Prefer someone with some equity fund raising experience in the venture capital arena including investor relations. Experience packaging and presenting financial and company information to board members and potential investors would be ideal. -- Prefer candidates with experience working in a dynamic (i.e. "startup") environment is preferred as well as a successful track record building a web company. Need someone who enjoys the entrepreneurial atmosphere of a small company, but has been through the experience of scaling up an enterprise to significant organization size and revenues.
