From Rock the vote- register to vote

I prefer rock shows over cocktail parties, but I do attend a few here and there. Six months ago, there were two tidbits of conventional wisdom treated as gospel on the DC cocktail-party circuit: (1) young voters don't vote and (2) the primaries will end on February 5th, "Super Tuesday."

You know, it's stunning how wrong they were. Young voters turned out in record numbers, often making the difference. And the Democratic primary process is still up for grabs--and could stay that way until June. Want to keep proving the pundits wrong by helping us keep young voters on top? Click here:

The never-ending primaries give us an amazing opportunity to keep the youth vote story in the news by ensuring that young voter turnout soars in the upcoming contests.

So here are my two questions for you: Who do you know in Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Carolina, Nebraska, West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon, Montana, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico? And will you commit now to remind them to register and vote before their primaries? Each one of those contests is going to be a huge media event, and all the news media will be asking, "Are young people still making the difference?"

Now, more than ever, our country and world face great challenges. The President that is elected will make many serious decisions that will affect our lives and future, from the fate of our friends, family, and peers fighting a war overseas to the affordability of a college education to the make-up of the Supreme Court that is deciding on issues from women's right to choose to gay marriage. It's more important than just a story about the youth vote, it's about issues that affect all of us.

We're already off to a great start with 62,362 young people registered in these states since the beginning of the year. Rock the Vote is also on the cusp of registering 500,000 young voters since January 1st. It's an amazing achievement, and you can help us hit our goals by making sure that your friends register and vote on election day.
