The Greensafe Program is the result of a great deal research and industry analysis. The Greensafe Program includes a comprehensive green facilities maintenance program including product and procedures as well as foodservice solutions. Laura Craven is a member of the USGBC’s South Florida Chapter, and has provided educational sessions on behalf of the Chapter on the subject of green cleaning. Kiki Mutis is the Director of the Community Science Workshop at Citizens for a Better South Florida, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) non for profit environmental education organization in Miami. Kiki received a Bachelors of Art degree in Environmental Studies and earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science from Florida International University. The Community Science Workshop that Kiki directs is an innovative, cutting-edge, inquiry based hands-on program that serves at-risk youth. Through the CSW program students are exposed to the importance of volunteerism through tree plantings, beach clean-ups and establishing community gardens. Currently there are four such CSW programs in Miami; two in Liberty City, one in Little Havana and one at Virrick Park in the West Coconut Grove. At Citizens Ms. Mutis works hand in hand with Miami Dade College Service Learning Students ensuring that their volunteer services are educational, fun and productive. She strongly believes that volunteer work must not only be beneficial for the recipient, but also that the volunteer must gain knowledge, experience or self gratification from the experience.
