JCI Coconut Grove Back-to-School Shopping Spree

Join the Coconut Grove Jaycees, Target,
Casola's Pizza and the Coral Gables Woman's Club!

As you know, the children of today are one of the greatest investments we can make with our time, money, and love.

The Coconut Grove Jaycees are proud to announce our 14th Annual “Jaycees/Target Back-to-School Shopping Spree” to be held on Thursday, August 16th at 7 p.m.. Through the community’s involvement over the past 14 years, we have touched the lives of over 350 underprivileged local children, as we provided them with the opportunity to purchase new clothing, shoes and supplies for school. These children have come from Coconut Grove, Tucker and Carver Elementary Schools, as well as the local Boys and Girls Clubs. The children are selected on the basis of their financial needs as well as their academic performance.

This year our goal is to brighten the lives of at least 20 local underprivileged children from Tucker Elementary School in Coconut Grove. We need your participation. By sponsoring one or more children, you can help us reach our goal. Sponsorships start at $75.00 per child. Volunteers will shop for the much needed supplies and then deliver them to the school children during an exciting post-shopping pizza party sponsored by Casola’s Pizza on Friday, August 17th at 6 pm at Tucker Elementary School’s Cafeteria. Your sponsorship will be displayed at Target & Tucker Elementary throughout the day of the event. We also expect to have media coverage from at least one television station and several newspapers.

Please, take the time right now, to make the commitment to make a difference in a child’s life. Simply fill out the attached Sponsorship form and return it along with your sponsorship check made payable to “Coconut Grove Jaycees” to the address above today! I also extend an invitation to you or any of your employees to come out and join us as an adult volunteer for the Spree and/or Pizza Party. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (305) 321-4827 or our VP of Community Development, Jane Decker at (305) 283-4061.

All the best,

Robin Johnson - Event Chair
