Ayuda was recently selected for the 2009 Best of Miami Beach Award in the Non-Profit Organizations category by the U.S. Commerce Association. For over 30 years Ayuda has provided services and programs for low income families throughout Miami. Services include child care, summer camps, juvenile delinquent programs, family empowerment, and elder care services. Programs such as journalism, music, and art have enabled Ayuda’s children to discover new talents and passions. Records from Miami Dade’s court system show that Ayuda’s work with first time juvenile offenders has had a 98% success rate in keeping these young people from repeating offenses. With dramatic cuts from grants and private donations, many of these vital programs are being threatened. For more information on this organization, go to www.ayudamiami.org
