Fratelli Lyon's Wine Seminars
Wine major: Proficient in the regions and varietals of Italian vino (of which there are circa 2000).
Qualifications: Graduate of Fratelli Lyon’s six-week Passport Through Italy wine seminars, Wednesdays, tonight through October 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Skills: Ability to sample six to eight wines (from a different region each week) paired with tasting bites.
Course work: Italy 101 (a broad tasting), Under the Mediterranean Sun (Sicily, Campania, Puglia), The Source of Roman Indulgence (Central Italy), Cool Breeze in the Alps (Alto Adige and Tre Venezie), Elegance in Piedmont, and the Rustic Countryside of Tuscany.
Experience: Instructed by Julie Mushett (fine wine specialist of Vinifera Imports) and Anièce Meinhold (sommelier and general manager of Fratelli Lyon).
Extra credit: A gran finale dinner on October 21, including a cocktail reception and five-course dinner with wine pairing.
Goal: To generate buzz.
