Christian Louboutin at Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour February 2 2008

This Saturday, February 2nd, “The Man of Sole” Takes On Miami
Christian Louboutin at Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour

They call him “the man of sole.” The current “it” man of fashion’s luxury shoe empire. On February 2, 2008, the French shoe guru Christian Louboutin will grace the MIA for one day only with a very rare and special appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour. The occasion: the U.S. premier showing and signing of the entire Spring 2008 Collection.

In honor of the designer, Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour will host a buzzy afternoon soirée which promises to bring a touch of the designer’s native Paris to the floor. Guests may indulge in the finer things of life, from Veuve Cliquot and French Macaroons, mingling with fellow fashionistas, to of course immersing themselves in a world of Louboutin and seizing the opportunity to have newly purchased pairs of Christian Louboutin’s autographed by the designer himself.

The Christian Louboutin line encompasses a wide assortment of styles including espadrilles, sandals, boots, pumps and evening shoes ranging from 0 to 4" inclines. There is a right fit to empower any individual.

Coined by the flawlessly lacquered red soles, striking stiletto heels, and exquisite designs, a pair of Christian Louboutins give the ability for every woman to feel confident, impossibly feminine, and glamorous. The designer’s fan base encompasses an international audience of the social world’s most well regarded and elegant women, ranging from royalties and celebrities to socialites and fashion mavens.

The story of Mr. Louboutin is fascinating. His affinity to style and women began at the earliest age, and escalated during his teenage years when he frequented The Palace, the legendary nexus of nightlife that attracted the most glamorous and infamous of Paris. As he progressed through his adolescence, Louboutin’s attention focused less on academics and more consumed by his fervent passion for showgirls, dancing, and theatrics. At 16 he began propositioning music hall performers with sales of his first designs.

Fruitful years have followed. Throughout his career, Louboutin worked alongside the top in the industry including Charles Jordan at Romans, and the iconic Roger Vivier at Christian Dior. He has freelanced for the most renowned haute couture houses: Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Maud Frison. In 1992, the designer solidified his mark in history with the launch of the first ever Christian Louboutin boutique in Paris. From the merchandise, to the ambiance, to the clientele that frequented the establishment, it was witty, elegant and of the highest quality. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Today, it is the craze that women around the world cannot seem to get enough of, and a look that imposters have quickly tried to emulate without comparable success. Whatever the trend of the moment may be, the versatility, creativity and sophistication of the brand ensures that Christian Louboutin will not be leaving the fashion radar anytime soon. An investment in Louboutin is an investment of a lifetime.
