THE CITIZEN ACADEMY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
The Citizen Academy Leadership Institute facilitated by Florida International University Center for Leadership and Service and Hands On Miami. The Leadership Academy is based on The Leadership Challenge, by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner. Through their extensive research with leaders in business, industry, education, and not for profits, the authors found similarities in the stories of "personal best" leadership experiences. These common practices became the basis for five practices of exemplary leadership. Each practice includes skills, abilities, and behaviors that connect with leadership success. The Leadership Challenge
Model the Way
Inspire shared Vision
Challenge the Process
Enable Others to Act
Encourage the Heart
