7th Annual Heart and Star Dinner

Tuesday, February 26 at 6:15 p.m.

Join The Wellness Community - Greater Miami (TWC) to honor cancer survivor Debbie Curtin, Flagstone Property Group Chairman and CEO, Mehmet Bayraktar, and Surgical Oncologist Dr. Robert P. Derhagopian. The event, emceed by Mark Schumacher, benefits TWC's mission to provide psychological and emotional support programs, free of charge, for adults with cancer and their loved ones to find hope and support at all stages of their disease. Nordstrom, Advanced Medical Specialties and Island Gardens are the presenting sponsors. Tickets are $250, and there are special drawing tickets available for incredible prizes ($40 each or three for $100). Cocktails begin at 6:15 and dinner is served at 7:15 p.m.

BACC Keynote Speaker Luncheon

The British American Chamber of Commerce is hosting a series of three Keynote Speaker Luncheons. The first, presented by Anthony Smallwood, offers a sound understanding of the importance of the European Union-Florida Trade Relationship. Mr. Smallwood is currently 'spokesman' and press and cultural counselor at the European Commission's Delegation in Washington where he leads the Press and Public Diplomacy Team. Fundraising Reception with Marco Rubio

Kristi House welcomes guest speaker Marco Rubio, Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, at a special fundraising reception hosted by Becker & Poliakoff. A donation of $100 is suggested, which will benefit Kristi House's mission to provide a healing environment for child victims and their families, regardless of income.

16th Annual "Art of Table Decorating" Cocktail Preview

Friday, February 29 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Beaux Arts, a volunteer organization that supports the Lowe Art Museum, will host its annual "Art of Table Decorating" exhibition Friday, February 29, through Sunday, March 2. Beaux Arts members join South Florida retailers, interior designers and event planners to create over 25 uniquely themed tables that will inspire your imagination and enhance your personal approach to entertaining. A preview cocktail reception, including a full bar, hors d'oeuvres and live music, kicks off the weekend's exhibition. Tickets for the cocktail party are $60. On Saturday (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday (11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) tickets are $7. All proceeds will be used to acquire new works for the Lowe's permanent collection and to support a community outreach program to introduce underprivileged kids to the arts.

Hugs & Kisses Committee Family Fun Day

Miami Children's Hospital Foundation's first Family Fun Day, hosted by CBS4's entertainment reporter Lisa Petrillo, with Junior Committee Chairs Cristofer Fernandez, Zachary Kerr, I. Nicholas Lopez-Morillo and Alessandra Quintero, is being hosted by the Village of Merrick Park. The carnival-like setting includes entertainment for the whole family with arcade games, face painters, rock wall, monster slide, computer game trailer and much more. The carnival runs from noon to 3 p.m., and tickets are $50 for adults and $20 for children. Also on the day's agenda are a children's fashion show, seated brunch, the "I Make a Difference" awards ceremony, and a silent auction featuring items donated by participating Merrick Park stores. The show, brunch and ceremony begin at 10:30, and tickets are $175 per person with proceeds going to Miami Children's Hospital.
