Off Like a Prom Dress
Project Prom Dress
You didn’t make it to your prom, but lack of a party dress was not the reason. (That honor goes to Chuck McIntyre, Asti Spumante, and vomit.)
Sadly, some girls don’t even have a dress to spew on. Don’t let them miss the last dance: Donate a festive frock to Project Prom Dress.
Tomorrow through Saturday, bring a gently used dress to the Village of Merrick Park and be rewarded with free parking (and good karma). The dresses will go to the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program, which empowers at-risk young women. On Friday, April 18, the girls can choose a dress and get a makeup demo.
Your tulle mini? Satin halter? The sequined number from your Donna Summer phase? Let ’em go. Everyone has a dress to give.
Just not the one you wore to lay up Chuck.
Village of Merrick Park, 358 San Lorenzo Avenue, level 3, store 3210, Coral Gables. Drop off, Thursday-Saturday, noon-6 p.m. For more information, go to villageofmerrickpark.com.
