THE SALON@THE WOLFSONIAN

We are forming a social and volunteer group at the Wolfsonian. Our mission is to support the Museum’s rich programming and to help build an audience for their Friday Nights.

We aim to do this by hosting edgy, provocative, and entertaining evenings. These may include: conversations with authors, artists, thinkers, designers, photographers, journalists and architects; screenings with filmmakers; and interactive events like debates and story slams. In other words, just the kind of stuff that is likely to end up in the Museum 50 years from now.

So here’s where you come in. We are looking for like-minded people to join in this effort. This can mean as little as contributing ideas for evenings to as much as “hosting” one of the salons.

We know your time is precious, so we would be very grateful if you would take a few minutes to list at least one program, lecture, film, performance, debate, monologue... that you would want to attend. We would also love suggestions for other potential members.

If you’re interested in offering some more of your time, come to our first meeting: tea at the Dynamo Café*, 3:00 PM on June 12th.

If you cannot make this, but would like to be involved, please contact Barbara newyorkbound@verizon.net or Lee at lchare@hotmail.com.

We plan to have fun connecting people and ideas and hope you will join us.

Best,

Barbara Cohen + Lee Cohen Hare
