Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for strategic management and thought leadership for marketing partnerships and programs at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. This includes two strategic lines of sight. First, to lead corporate wide strategic direction for development of new and existing partners which benefit Starwood as a whole. The Vice President will lead a team members who act as an internal agency model with brands & Starwood Preferred Guest (loyalty program) as clients. Second, this position is responsible for the development, creation and implementation of unique branded partnerships for each of Starwood’s 9 hotel brands as well as the Starwood Preferred Guest Program (Starwood’s Award Winning Loyalty Program).

The position requires the ability to inform, negotiate and manage executive level management at Starwood, Strategic Partners, Brand Managers, Divisional Marketing teams, as well as the Loyalty Marketing group.

Additionally, this position has a large global requirement as the role overseas all partnerships across Starwood’s 4 Worldwide Divisions.

Primary Objectives:
 Oversee strategy and market development for strategic alliance partners
 Provide thought leadership and strategic management of select programs including market delivery and implementation.
 Develop and implement promotional partnership opportunities for all brands and Starwood globally.
 Lead two teams who source new partnerships in key categories including automobile, beverage, entertainment, luxury and lifestyle to support Starwood brand positioning including both promotional programming and enhancement to the guest’s experience.
 Oversee Starwood’s Global Visual & Audio Entertainment strategy and development of partnerships to support programming by brand
 Operate internal agency model to support brand teams and SPG while interfacing with all Starwood divisions/regions
 Manage team with 3 primary direct reports who manage day-to-day project management of key partnerships & programs while aligning with brand teams
 Manage on-going communication with field and internal departments of Starwood Corporate including Starwood One
 Responsible for managing and delivering multi-million dollar operating metrics including marketing funds, soft dollars, other direct revenue to support Starwood hotel brands and Starwood Preferred Guest.
 Participate in the development of brand/divisional public relations and promotion strategies.


Skills/Competencies Required:

 Strong marketing background (8+ years) required with some experience in relationship marketing preferred
 Ability to build support for change among the organization while recognizing the need to support the brand positionings
 Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple areas of Starwood: International Divisions, Brand Teams, Regional Areas and Hotels
 Demonstrated ability to develop and execute innovative marketing plans
 Strong management and communication skills
 Bachelor’s degree required/MBA recommended
