MORNING NEWS Executive Producer: Want to collaborate with some of the best journalists in the business while trying something new, different and fun? WSFL in Fort Lauderdale/Miami is looking for an Executive Producer for our newly launched 4 hour morning show. The TV station is part of the South Florida Sun Sentinel newspaper. You'll have access to hundreds of journalists for breaking news while playing in an all HD TV studio. The Executive Producer must be able to lead, collaborate and coach. Strong editorial and storytelling skills are needed. Main responsibilities include script approval including working with reporters on packages and live shot production; reviewing all on-air graphics; helping to determine story selection and stacking; working in conjunction with the news director on special projects and event coordination; suggesting news stories daily and contributing ideas for special segments and ongoing franchise pieces. The ideal candidate will have five to eight years of line-producing experience; a bachelor’s degree in communications or broadcast journalism or equivalent related experience; the ability to write clear, compelling broadcast copy; strong organizational and communication skills and a keen attention to detail; thorough working knowledge of newsroom computer systems (ENPS) and broadcast production equipment and the ability to be a leader in the newsroom and to motivate others under deadline pressure.
