SVP of Advertising Sales & Strategy NEEDED‏

We are conducting an executive search for an SVP of Advertising Sales & Strategy for a new media company headquartered in Virginia. Initially, the person can work remotely-especially if already living on the East coast. This is an excellent opportunity to build a sales team and your own business unit from scratch. Need someone that can be hands-on initially while building the Company's advertising strategy and ad sales capabilities for this new media solution. Position may evolve into running an important part of this advertising and network business. Candidates must have extensive experience selling media to advertising agencies and big name brands. The company has approximately a dozen employees and just recently started generating revenues. This is an excellent opportunity to get in early before the company closes its Series B. This is a key hire. Board is willing and able to put together the right package for the right candidate. Candidates must have recent and significant experience managing an individual and/or team quota as a SVP, VP or Director selling new media to advertising agencies and big name brands such as Coca-Cola, Visa, Ford, etc. Must have a well developed "Rolodex" of key contacts (media buyers) at ad agencies and big name brands. This is a management position reporting to the CEO. You will be part of the core executive team that includes the CEO. Initially, this will also be an individual contributor position. LOCATION: The company is located in Virginia. However, the CEO will consider someone who works remotely (initially)-especially if the candidate already lives on the East coast. COMPENSATION: This is a key hire. Board is willing and able to put together the right package for the right candidate. The compensation package will include: base salary, bonus, and stock options There will be an emphasis on incentives for outstanding performance. The Board wants to hire someone who is very motivated. MANAGEMENT STYLE/CORPORATE CULTURE: This position reports to the CEO. He will only hire someone who is a team player and does not need to be micromanaged. Basically, he prefers to agree to a set of objectives making sure that the objectives are clearly outlined and understood by the individual, then let the individual execute the plan. But, expects the individual to keep him informed of progress. Individual must be able to go to the CEO when in need of help. He will only hire someone that is very entrepreneurial and passionate with a burning hunger for success; someone with a vision. He wants people with new ideas and strong opinions, but able to move in a fast paced, ever-changing start up environment. Corporate culture is very team oriented and results focused. There is open communication and exchange of new ideas. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: -- Must have someone with recent and significant experience managing an individual and/or team quota as a SVP, VP or Director selling new media to advertising agencies and big name brands such as Coca-Cola, Visa, Ford, etc. -- Must have a well developed "Rolodex" of key contacts (media buyers) at ad agencies and big name brands. -- Must have a record of quota over-achievement. -- Prefer candidates that have previously taken a company with less than $1M in revenues and helped build it into a company with revenues in the multi-millions within a relatively short period of time. -- Prefer someone that can bring some people on board that you have worked with previously. Need someone that can build a top grade advertising sales team from the ground up. Someone who can ensure that the team has the best possible talent (A players) at each level. Structure comp & incentive plans. Coach and keep top talent and remove non-performers efficiently. Also establish advertising sales processes, tracking and visibility. You will be fully in charge of your numbers, growth and hiring plan.
