"Spreading the Love" Radio-Thon

Friday November 9 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

McDonald's, Mega 94.9 FM and DSLi are joining forces to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities all day long. Listeners will be able to make donations (minimum $5 please) to help families whose children are receiving treatment at any pediatric hospital in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Live remotes at McDonald's at 1101 West 49th Street in Hialeah, plus activities for kids and a visit from Ronald McDonald himself. Donations are tax-deductible and can be charged on a credit card. Help RMHC provide services for families in a time of need!

Project: New Born/Bal Harbour Shops Fashion Show Luncheon

Friday, November 9 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A staple in Miami's philanthropic community, Project: New Born's 34th Annual Fashion Show Luncheon presented by the Bal Harbour Shops has moved from the now-closed Sheraton Bal Harbour to The Hotel Intercontinental. Different location, but same fabulous luncheon featuring the Baileys Irish Cream Sweet Creations with South Florida's top pastry chefs. The Bal Harbour Fashion Show will feature Chanel, Dior, Luca Luca, Neiman Marcus, Oscar de la Renta, Roberto Cavalli, Saks Fifth Avenue, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent. It's sure to be fantastic!

2007 Champion for Children Awards Ceremony

Alonzo and Tracy Wilson Mourning are being honored with the 2007 Champions for Children Award presented by The Children's Trust. The two have worked for more than a decade on behalf of children and foster care programs and have raised more than $6 million for various organizations. Other honorees are Sister Marie Carol Hurley, the 2007 Life Time Achievement Award, and Florida Senator Nan H. Rich, the 2007 Excellence Award for Public Policy.

Homestead Hospital's Pineapple Gala

Friday, November 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Take a nostalgic journey back to the days of the Big Band era with music from the ‘40's, dinner and dancing. Comedy Benefit

A Comedy Benefit for The Spirituality for Kids Foundation is being hosted by the Kabbalah Centre. The Spirituality for Kids curriculum empowers kids to see that they have the ability inside them to overcome challenges and improve the quality of their lives and the world around them. The program is now being taught in a number of Miami-Dade Public Schools' after-school programs. Tickets for the show range from $36 to $150.
