Frommer's Review
Finally! After years of speculation, star chef Govind Armstrong, who got his start at the age of 13 with Wolfgang Puck at L.A.'s legendary Spago, opened a branch of this L.A. hot spot on South Beach. Table 8 is a massive space of all things hip, groovy, swell, and sleek. With 255 seats, the restaurant consists of a main dining room, a private dining room for celeb and VIP clientele, and a wine room. Can't score reservations? Don't fret! There's also a 40-seat lounge situated beneath the Regent's fabulous glass-bottom pool and featuring a delicious small-plate lounge menu. Among chef Armstrong's signature dishes: a salt-roasted porterhouse steak which the Robb Report called the "best of the best" in one of their coveted best of issues.
