Romayne P. Berry
Senior Vice President - Consulting Services, Right Management
As Senior Vice President - Consulting Services for Right Management, the career road that Romayne Berry has traveled gives her an insider’s familiarity with the long-term objectives and day-to-day business opportunities and challenges with whom Right partners. With broad business experience in finance, operations, and corporate human resources, Romayne brings a variety of strengths and experiences as strategic planner, risk manager, corporate strategist, international player, negotiator, and management consultant. Prior to Right Romayne played key roles with Tower Consultants, SnowMark Corporation Tire Kingdom, Arby’s / Triarc Restaurant Group and Triarc Companies, Hechinger Stores, Woodward & Lothrop/John Wanamaker, and Marsh McLennan.

Romayne received a MBA from FAU, with course concentration in Finance and Management. From George Washington University Law School, she completed certified course work in tax and corporate law, earlier receiving her BA from the University of Maryland in International Studies and Government.


John D. Heins
Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Spherion Corporation
John D. Heins is senior vice president and chief human resources officer of Spherion Corporation, a leading recruiting and staffing company that provides integrated solutions to meet the evolving needs of companies and job candidates.

John is an accomplished leader with 25 years of human resources and management experience and a proven track record of success. In addition to human resources support, the law, real estate, business meeting services and risk management functions also report to John.

Prior to joining Spherion, he spent 11 years with JM Family Enterprises, and 14 years with Florida Power and Light.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and operations research management from the University of Florida.


Mitchel Kramer
Founder, The FAS Group (Financial Accounting Solutions Group)
Mitchel Kramer is a local entrepreneur with deep roots in the south Florida community. After graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting, cum laude, he worked in public accounting with Arthur Andersen for three years while obtaining his CPA certification. He decided to leave the accounting profession in 1993 and entered the world of professional recruitment. His career in recruitment included working for a local firm, a Fortune 500 corporation, an International public company, and his own firm that he founded in 2000. He built his firm into a multiple office operation and the firm was acquired in December 2006 by the Allegis Group.

Nearly four years ago Mitchel founded “The FAS Group” (Financial Accounting Solutions Group), a fast-growing, financial systems and accounting consulting and outsourcing firm based in Ft. Lauderdale and serving a national client base.


Howard Shore
Principal, Activate Group, Inc.
Howard Shore has developed a track record for helping organizations to accelerate revenue and profit growth rates at levels exceeding 20% annually. As a personal coach, Howard has helped executives and sales people to increase their personal success. He has a 20+ year track record in multinational, public and private companies, across many industries, and business that range from start-up to $20 billion in revenue. He has held executive-level positions including CEO and CFO.

Howard is a Certified Coach, Gazelles International Coach, Certified Behavioral Analyst, Certified Values Analyst, Certified Attributes Index Analyst, and Certified Public Accountant.

He has earned Bachelors and MBA degrees from Florida International University and completed advanced Executive Programs at Harvard Law School and the University of Chicago.


Lauren E. Smith
Managing Director, Diversified Search Ray & Berndtson (DSRB)
Lauren E. Smith is a Managing Director in the Miami office of Diversified Search Ray & Berndtson (DSRB). Lauren has conducted senior-level executive search assignments for companies ranging from multinational corporations to high-growth early-stage organizations. Lauren began her search career with Egon Zehnder International.

Before moving into executive search in 2000, Lauren had twelve years of experience in marketing and strategy for Fortune 50 companies. She served as Global Marketing Manager and as Director Business Development for Motorola, where she led sales & marketing efforts to break into new markets. She also served a Motorola joint-venture as Vice President, Marketing & Customer Operations in Bogotá, Colombia. At Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Ms. Smith held several marketing roles where she developed and executed new business entry strategies.

She has lived and worked in Europe and Latin America. She is fluent in Spanish and has a BS from the Pennsylvania State University and a MBA in international business from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management.


Stephen Karp (Moderator)
President, Karp Solutions, LLC
People who work with Stephen Karp regard him as a strategic yet versatile leader and an innovative thinker. He has developed creative solutions to tough business issues, implemented those innovations, and managed the resulting operations.

After receiving a BS degree from the Wharton School and a MBA in finance from New York University, Stephen worked for ABC News, CBS, Ryder System, Mullin Consulting, and Spherion. Stephen has had extensive responsibilities affecting global corporate entities, small business units, acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, and new ventures. He held several positions in the human resources, finance, sales, and support operations functions.

While working independently, Stephen helped four Internet start-ups in their efforts to write business plans, develop forecasts, raise capital, engage vendors, and forge strategic partnerships. His consulting also provides human resource advice to clients on recruiting, human resource planning, compensation, benefits, career management, and leadership development.
