Miami Filmmaker Project

Entertainment Industry Incubator launches Miami Filmmaker Project

The Entertainment Industry Incubator is very pleased to announce the launch of the Miami Filmmaker Project (MFP), a new program devoted to the professional development of South Florida-based filmmakers. For those of you who are familiar with some of our most popular offerings over the last decade, the MFP, whose programs run in two to three year cycles, will offer a guiding hand from movie industry experts, both national and local. Tracks will be offered consecutively for screenwriting, directing and producing.
So what’s in it for you?
As with several of our previous programs, there will be a submission process and the ten most qualified entrants in each of three categories will be invited to participate in one of the designated intensives that will take place consecutively over the course of a year. The intention is to help the talented individual filmmaker hone his or her craft so that, from start to finish, there is a mentor available who has previous solid industry experience and the connections with which to offer support and assistance. By the end of the two – three year process, participants should have a movie of which they can be proud and is of the caliber that would be accepted by the major film festivals around the country and the world.
As always, the Incubator will call upon its “entourage” (industry VIPs) to offer ongoing expertise and contacts to the ten gifted filmmakers who have been chosen to participate with us in each of the three tracks (sometimes there is overlap so one person can qualify for more than one intensive). There will also be a series of workshops on the ways in which film gets to market.
So how do you become one of those ten?
The first intensive offered will be screenwriting and the round of submissions for that will be opening on December 1st. We are looking at feature length scripts that are written by local filmmakers and if they tell a local story, so much the better. As with our previous script contests, your submission will be read by industry personnel and will run through a process of professional examination searching for those that would benefit most by participating in the MFP. We expect studio personnel and talent agents to be among those that read for us.
If you are chosen…
If your script is chosen, you will be notified and asked to clear your calendar for the dates that you would need to be in Miami for this professional development opportunity. It is important that you attend all sessions of the intensive. We want to insure that those who win a seat in this competitive situation are able to receive maximum benefit.

So check our website after Dec. 1st: www.eincubator.org for more information or call us at (305)672-9297. See you at the movies.
