Job Description
Marketing Director, MySpace en Español
This role understands the execution and management of both non traditional marketing and entertainment content on the website and how they work together. The Director will identify, develop and execute media, content, event and promotional partnerships to define the MySpace brand in US Hispanic Market in the following genres: music, film, television, radio, events, gaming, sports, philanthropy and other niche entertainment and lifestyle genres relevant to MySpace users, with the objective to grow MySpace’s user base in the US Hispanic Market and Latin America and maximize mass-market brand awareness. The successful candidate will have an understanding of media consumption (integrated), entertainment (marketing, programming in music, TV, film and fashion) and advertising execution online.
Responsibilities Include:
Promotions and Events
• Identify and execute promotional events and partnerships that have online and offline components (e.g. company sponsorships, radio promotions, PR events, marketing campaigns, offline events, etc.)
• Basic event planning understanding
• Understanding of consumer offline marketing such as festival footprints, merchandise and non-traditional marketing collateral
Develop Partnerships and Acquire Content for MySpace Entertainment Channels including Music, Film, Television, Comedy
• Secure content exclusives to run on MySpace
• Develop and execute original programs that allow our users to actively participate in the community
• Maintain and grow executive relationships with music labels, agents, DJ’s and managers
• Create and maintain content partnerships to elevate the awareness of MySpace content channels
• Define and execute synergistic/barter relationships with networks and programs allowing for brand awareness and recognition.
• Work with sales department to create programs for brand channels and profiles.
• Determine key strategic partnerships that will bring exposure, credibility and activity to MySpace content channels
Business Development
• Define and explore partnership programs that will enrich the experience of being on MySpace (i.e. limited edition retail merchandise, touring or events, ticketing, partnerships in satellite radio/television and film)
• Research and development of competitor’s sites and programs to maintain business advantage
• Manage content acquisition that requires financial exploration (i.e. schools databases, local cinema info)
Communications/Public Relations
• Deliver added value media for the company through creative use of press and promotions
• Work with PR agency to create and deliver positive messaging to the media.

Liaison to Sales Department/Sales Marketing
• Create marketing programs that enhance sales opportunity
• Advise brand integration into website to maintain brand sensibility and user experience
• Define and package sponsored programming
• Assist in sales pitches
• Extract elements of sales programs to develop marketing exclusives
Qualifications/Experience:
• 7+ years of entertainment marketing and content experience
• Exceptional relationship-building skills
• Interactive/Digital media and entertainment experience or strong understanding
• Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully execute strategic marketing, consumer promotions and partnerships with media companies, corporate sponsors and the entertainment industry
• Proficiency with contracts and negotiation and understanding of media value
• Budget and fiscal responsibility for all programs
• Event planning and offline consumer marketing understanding
• Solid track record of success
• Ability to manage a diverse team
• Excellent organisation, written and oral communication skills, highly organized and detail-oriented
• Microsoft Office Skills, with emphasis on PowerPoint
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Portuguese preferred but not required.
