Get into the Grove
Cita’s Italian Chophouse Opens
After a summer in Europe, you took to wearing scarves, talking with an accent, and calling your pad a villa.
But lately the closest you’ve come to world travel is pad thai at Epcot.
Thankfully you can still drink Chianti with lunch — in the Grove. Yup, Cita’s Italian Chophouse opens today in one of your favorite nabes, serving carpacci, gnocchetti, and the like. Opened by a long-time resident, Cita’s caters to the neighborhood, with a homey but elegant dining room, outdoor patio, and authentic Italian menu.
Starters include antipasti meats and cheeses, lobster cakes, and ten-ounce meatballs with whipped ricotta. After a primi of pasta (truffled Alfredo, spinach ravioli in sage butter), secundis range from short ribs marinated in Barolo to Sardinian risotto.
Finish with the Sabotage, a decadent tasting of five chocolate desserts.
Then tell everyone about your dolce vita.
Cita’s Italian Chophouse, 3176 Commodore Plaza, Coconut Grove (305-446-2207).
