We are conducting an executive search for an Online Product Manager/Director for an international Internet company in the music space. (Title depends upon experience.) Position is located in Boston. Company culture is extremely entrepreneurial, collaborative, casual and creative. Need a technology leader to create and execute a new product road map while building the software development and technology operations teams in-house and through outsourcing. Must have held a position within the last 6 months as a Product Director/Manager, Web Producer or a Senior Project Manager (or equivalent) at a company that is a publicly facing consumer website. Company is over eight years old and has a significant recurring revenue stream through a subscription-based revenue model. Client is willing and able to put together the right package for the right candidate. Client prefers someone already living in the area, but will relocate the right candidate.

COMPANY: International Internet company in the music space. Company culture is extremely entrepreneurial, collaborative, casual and creative. Company is over eight years old and has a significant recurring revenue stream through a subscription-based revenue model.

LOCATION: Position is located in Boston. Client prefers someone already living in the area, but will relocate the right candidate. He will NOT consider someone who would work remotely.

COMPENSATION: Client is willing and able to put together the right package for the right candidate. The compensation package will include a base salary, bonus plan, and stock options. A full benefits package including 401(k) is included.

MANAGEMENT STYLE/CORPORATE CULTURE: This position reports to the CEO. He will only hire someone who is a team player and does not need to be micromanaged. Basically, he prefers to agree to a set of objectives making sure that the objectives are clearly outlined and understood by the individual, then let the individual execute the plan. But, expects the individual to keep him informed of progress. Individual must be able to go to him when in need of help. He will only hire someone that is very entrepreneurial and passionate with a burning hunger for success; someone with a vision. He wants people with new ideas and strong opinions, but able to move in a fast paced, ever-changing start up environment. He needs someone that can hit the ground running. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

-- Must have held a position within the last 6 months as a Product Director/Manager, Web Producer or a Senior Project Manager (or equivalent) at a company that is a publicly facing consumer website.

-- Must have very strong project management skills. Must be experienced working with the technologists for development and with the heads of marketing, sales, etc to create new products or modify and enhance existing products.

-- Prefer candidates with international experience.

-- Prefer candidates with experience in gathering consumer research: primary and secondary research, conducting focus groups, etc.

-- Prefer candidates with experience in scoping out whole new products leading to new businesses.

-- Must have earned undergraduate degree. MBA preferred, but not required. Looking for candidates that are very smart and results focused.
