5th Annual Prayer Breakfast

Thursday, March 6 at 7:30 a.m.

Riverside House's motto is "with a little help and a second chance, anything's possible!" This residential re-entry center assists former offenders in rejoining society after incarceration, offering life skills training and substance abuse counseling and programs. Join Don McNeal, former Miami Dolphin and Counseling Pastor at New Testament Baptist Church, and Vicki Lopez Lukis with the Girls Advocacy Project for this annual Prayer Breakfast fundraiser. Tickets are $20; seating is limited.

YWCA Court Care Reception and Silent Auction

Thursday, March 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

BNY Mellon is hosting a fundraising event to benefit the YWCA Court Care Day Care Center for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years located in the Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse. Join members of the YWCA and the Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers for a lively cocktail reception with DJ Le Spam. Proceeds from tickets and the evening's silent auction will help provide a safe haven for children whose parents and guardians are involved in court proceedings. Tickets are $35 for Bar Association members, law students and government attorneys; $50 for all others. Complimentary valet parking at JW Marriott or self-parking at Mellon. "Key to the Golden Palace"

The Unicorn Children's Foundation will host its 10th anniversary gala celebration at Palm Beach's legendary Mar-A-Lago private club with Grand Honorary Host Donald J. Trump. Unicorn Grand Ambassadors Mike and Valeria Rosenbloom, Larry Witte, Esq. and Donald Trump will be honored for their support of the organization and its programs to help children affected by learning and communication challenges. Feast with the Beasts

Friday, March 7 at 8 p.m.

Day of the Child 3rd Annual Fundraising Awards Dinner

Saturday, March 8 from 6 to 11 p.m.

At its annual fundraising awards dinner Day of the Child will honor those who serve at-risk children in our community. A cocktail reception begins at 6:00 with open bar and hors d'oeuvres, and dinner and the awards presentations are at 8 p.m. There will be a live and silent auction with artwork, jewelry and sports memorabilia to raise funds for the Mentoring Fair to be held in July. The Irene Davidson Day of the Child Award will be given to one outstanding individual who through dedication and tireless efforts best serves children at-risk. Sponsorships and tables are still available. Tickets are $1,250 for a table of ten or $130 for individual tickets.

American Red Cross Ball

More than 500 guests will attend the American Red Cross Ball with Local 10's Laurie Jennings serving as Mistress of Ceremonies. Chaired by Paula Brockway and her committee, the evening commemorates 26 years of fundraising by a dedicated group of volunteers who will set a new record this year. At the gala a brand new 2008 red CLK 350 Cabriolet, donated by Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables, plus lavish shopping sprees and more will be won by lucky ticket holders. Gables Gold Rush Casino Night

Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Saddle up pardner and head due west to "gold rush" country for the swankiest saloon and the most liberal gaming casino this side of the Miami River. Money goes to the May Van Sickle Children's Dental Clinic, which has provided free dental services for underprivileged children since 1939. Gables Gold Rush is hosted by the Coral Gables Woman's Club to help the dental clinic continue its mission of restoring healthy smiles of children who suffer from daily pain and dental disease. Opening Reception for "Have a Heart Buy Art"

Over 50 local artists have joined together to hold a fundraiser to benefit the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove. The artists are offering for sale pieces of their art ranging in size and in a variety of medium with half of the proceeds going to the historic Woman's Club.
