Arty People, Make Some Noise
Sacco Gallery Opens
There are leaders and there are followers. You? Happily the latter. (No, really, go ahead and jump out of the plane/pet the buffalo first.)
Stephanie Sacco, on the other hand, is a pioneer. And it’s a good thing, because the Upper East Side now has Sacco Gallery, which opens Saturday night. It’s the first gallery in the area, which means you’ve got something new to do after stuffing your face at Michy’s.
Sacco has always had a love for art — even while working in advertising and real estate — and the result is a wing of artist studios and a sprawling white space where she plans on hosting discussions, cocktail parties, and, of course, lots of exhibits.
First up is Ladies and Gentlemen, which features sketches, paintings, installations, and videos by her nine resident artists. Sacco says it’s just the kind of cultural infusion Biscayne Boulevard needs.
You’ll second that.
Sacco Gallery, 6444 Biscayne Boulevard (305-754-2727 or saccogallery.com). Opening party, Sat., 7-10 p.m.
