There is a dog in my neighborhood a couple of blocks over who desperately needs a good home. Not sure how old she is, thought the vet said she is a young dog, probably a couple of years old. The people who owned her sold their house and moved, leaving her behind. A neighbhor on the street has been feeding her and giving her water and would love to keep her, but they rent and their landlord would drastically raise their rent even if they kept her outdoors. She appears to have been an indoor dog though, but has been doing well outside. Honestly, I would keep her myself but Lou would kill me!
Except, last month, while outside, someone driving very fast down the road hit her. The driver didn't stop but fortunately a neighbor saw it happen and they were able to get her to the vet right away. She had a broken leg and was in pretty bad shape. This family has nursed her back to health and I saw her yesterday, running after the ball and playing. Her leg has almost completely healed and the vet said it should heal entirely soon.
I take Xavi over to see her weekly and she plays with him, gives him kisses, and lets him hug her without hesitation. It is easy to see she is a totally loving dog with no aggression. The neighbor did say though that at night if someone strange walks up to the house she will bark at them, so she apparently is a good guard dog too. When I walk up to her, since she knows me, she immediately rolls onto her back for me to rub her belly.
If you know anyone who might take her and give her a good home, please contact me immediately. One of the neighbors reported her as having been left behind to Animal Services and we're afraid they may pick her up which would be a true sorrow.
You can contact me by email at deborahdelcastillo @ yahoo.com or by telephone at 786-271-5796 if you are interested and I can arrange to meet you where she currently is staying. I've attached pictures so you can see what a sweetie she is.
Please pass on this email to any friends you have whom you know are animal lovers and might be interested in giving this sweet dog a home.
Thanks so much! Deborah
