The Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival (MGLFF) is seeking a Festival Development & Operations Director to work in their South Beach office. The Festival Development & Operations Director works in collaboration with the Festival/Program Director to plan and execute the production of the annual ten-day Festival as well as year-round special events, and reports directly to the Board of Directors. In addition, the Festival Development and Operations Director is responsible for the supervision and management of the Operations Manager, a full-time support staff member, plus additional temporary/seasonal employees. The Festival Development and Operations Director is part of a small team of staff that plan and execute the production of MGLFF's two main programs: (1) the annual ten-day Festival Event and (2) the year-round Screening Series.
Currently in it's 10th year, the Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival is preparing for a year full of exciting opportunities and growth including a special one time $50,000 matching fund pledge for a $100,000 campaign, the launch of the Fort Lauderdale Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and a highly anticipated LGBT conference for film and media industry professionals. The Festival Development and Operations Director works with the Festival/Program Director and Board of Directors to implement creative strategies geared towards fulfilling our visions and reaching new audiences and funding sources.
We are seeking candidates who have 3-5 years of development/marketing experience, and is comfortable with multi-tasking. The ideal candidate must be an aggressive fundraiser with strong communication skills in order to obtain corporate sponsorship, successfully pursue individual philanthropy, and be able to research, write and procure government/foundation grants. Eligible candidate must be comfortable with the daily management of finances, cash flow, and interpreting income/expense projections and expenditures. An ideal candidate should have strong inter-personal skills in order to develop existing and identify new high level members.
You must possess strong organizational skills. A background in film and/or non-profit management is considered a major plus.
